There is some good news as the government has stressed that the residential water tariffs will not increase for the next 2 to 3 years.
Works and Transport Ministry spokesperson Maika Nagalu said there has been a lot of misunderstanding in the papers regarding an increase in water rates.
Nagalu said the Water Authority of Fiji Promulgation does not allow increases in residential tariffs.
He said due to this, the Water Authority of Fiji is looking at commercial tariffs only and looking at how to manage outstanding debts.
