The consultation process on the by-laws which will soon be legislated in every village within the 14 provinces was highlighted today at the Kadavu Provincial Council meeting.
Deputy Permanent Secretary for Indigenous Affairs, Colonel Apakuki Kurusiga told the chiefs and Tikina representatives they will have to work closely with the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs and aim at the progress on the rural development works.
Kurusiga said the Provincial Administrators are tasked to go to the villages and talk to the people and they can give in their proposals if they want changes in the laws of the village.
Meanwhile Kurusiga said the Ministry will monitor and expect a monthly report from every Tikina rep by June on the proposals for the by-laws.
