Families in Qauia, Lami who were affected by the recent flood were given clothing and hygiene packs yesterday by the Rotary Club of Suva North members.

President Jinita Prasad said around 100 families were given donations yesterday.

Prasad said the 100 families were among those who were worse affected.

The hygiene packs put together by the group include bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, cleaning supplies and other toiletries.

These were also identified by the Fiji Red Cross she said as important to maintain good health for those affected following a disaster.

She said the trip to Qauia yesterday also allowed the group to find out what the other needs of those in the village are.

She added a second trip is also being planned by the group and other donors including the Rotary Club of Suva East and the Rotaract Club of Suva.
