Minister for Defence, Timoci Natuva says the trend of cultivation of drugs has shifted from the rural areas to the urban areas.

Natuva told Parliament that the Police Force is now looking at new technology to detect marijuana farms.

Opposition MP, Salote Radrodro then said that poverty is the driving force behind the alternative source of income and asked the Minister what strategies they have to address the root cause of this problem.

Natuva said they are talking about marijuana, not poverty.
