The lawyer for the three men charged with the attempted murder of a man at Jittu Estate last month has requested if the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions could separate the charges of his clients.

Lawyer Jiten Reddy says one of the accused is charged with one count of  attempted murder, criminal intimidation and one count of assault causing actual bodily harm while the other two are charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

Reddy explained to the court that if the charges are separated he would like to request the court if the case of the accused charged with the lesser charge can be transferred to the Magistrates Court.

While Ali Abu Talib and Ali Ahmed are charged with a count of assault causing actual bodily harm.

The bail mention for the case will be next Friday.
