Fiji's beach volleyball teams will compete at the Commonwealth Games for the first time after a clean sweep of the Oceania qualifiers at the Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu.
The women's pair of Laite Nima and Iliseva Ratudina beat Solomon Islands in 2 straight sets in the final to secure Oceania's first ever direct entry spot in a multi‑sport Games.
The men’s pair Inia Korowale and Qilu Elliot then made it a double celebration, beating Papua New Guinea in three sets to book their ticket to the Gold Coast.
The Fiji women join Vanuatu in the Commonwealth Games draw while the men will be the only Pacific team competing on the Gold Coast.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Barbarians 7's team had to settle for silver after losing to Samoa 14-7 in final of the Pacific Mini Games tournament in Vanuatu.
After a 1-all draw against Vanuatu, the Fiji Soccer team will play its next game against Tonga at 2pm next Tuesday in the Pacific Mini Games Soccer tournament.
Looking at the Medal tally, Fiji is on 2nd place with 15 Gold, 10 Silver and 13 Bronze, New Caledonia is in the 1st place with 24 Gold, 10 Silver and 6 Bronze while Samoa is in the 3rd place with 14 Gold, 9 Silver and 6 Bronze medals.
