The case of the 23-year-old man who went missing while swimming in the Dreketi River has been classified as drowning.

The 23-year-old man went missing while swimming in the Dreketi River in Saweni Lautoka on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim was swimming at around 6pm when he dived into the river and failed to surface.

The drowning toll is 1 compared to 2 for the same period last year.
