A 22‑year‑old unemployed man of Raiwai has been handed a suspended sentence of three months for stealing a bottle of wine from a supermarket last year.
Joeli Burotu pleaded guilty to one count of theft.
Burotu stole a bottle of wine worth $26.95 from New World Supermarket on 15th April last year.
While submitting the summary of facts, Police Prosecutor Corporal Sanil Kumar told the court the accused was a first offender and was remorseful of his actions.
Magistrate Joji Boseiwaqa has ordered the man not to re-offend within the next two years.
