A 38-year-old stepfather charged with a count each of abduction of a young person and attempted rape will have his bail ruling heard next Monday.

It is alleged that the man abducted his 13-year-old stepdaughter and attempted to rape her on 17th November last year in Nasinu.

State lawyer Mehzabeen Khan has objected to the bail on the grounds that it is a serious offence.

Magistrate Charles Ratakele has adjourned the matter till next Monday.
