Schools in the Jackson Local School District in Ohio's Stark County are on lockdown after a student shot himself.

CBS News reports, the seventh‑grader shot himself in a restroom at Jackson Memorial Middle School this morning.

The boy's condition wasn't immediately known. He was transported to a hospital.

Police did not say if the shooting was intentional or an accident. No other students and faculty members were injured.

Four elementary schools in the district were closed as a precaution, and the high school in the area was being evacuated.
