All Blacks and Hurricanes fly-half Beauden Barrett could make Super Rugby history against the Bulls at Loftus on Saturday.

The Hurricanes may not choose the 26‑year‑old for their first match of the season due to the fact that he has not played in any of the pre‑season warm‑up matches and that he arrived late in South Africa but if Barrett does play, he stands the chance to become just the fourth player in history to score 1,000 Super Rugby points.

Barrett is currently on 998 Super Rugby points, meaning that he will reach the milestone if he lands a penalty or conversion or scores a try on Sunday.

The only other players to have reached 1,000 Super Rugby points are Dan Carter, Morne Steyn and Stirling Mortlock.

If Barrett is not included in the match‑day squad for Loftus, then he will look to his side's clash against the Jaguares in Buenos Aires next weekend.

The Bulls will take on the Hurricanes at 3.15am this Sunday.

The Blues will face the Highlanders at 6.35pm tomorrow while the Reds will take on the Rebels at 8.45pm.

On Saturday, the Sunwolves take on the Brumbies at 4.15pm, defending champions, the Crusaders will play the Chiefs at 6.35pm, while the Waratahs will host the Stormers at 8.45pm.

On Sunday, the Lions play the Jaguares at 1.05am.
