A man who allegedly murdered his wife in a settlement near Labasa Town on Wednesday morning remains in police custody.

No charges have been laid as yet as Police are still awaiting the post-mortem result.

Police say according to the initial information, the husband is alleged to have struck his wife with a kitchen knife.

The incident took place near Nasekula Village.
