Suva High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo has ruled that Venktesh Permal Goundar has a case to answer in relation to the death of his wife in Lautoka City in 2015.

Goundar is alleged to have followed his wife into a shop holding a small bottle, poured the liquid over his wife and set her alight.

He is facing a count of murder.

The prosecution wrapped up its case this morning followed by a no case to answer application by the defense.

The closing submissions will be made this afternoon.
