Two major upsets happened yesterday in the first eliminations of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s.

Last year's finalist, Army Green lost to Marist 5-0 and will not be qualifying in the second Cup eliminations while team FTG stunned First Light Taveuni 14-12.

In other games, defending champions Tabadamu blue survived a tough battle against Sigatoka Electric Ravuka Sharks with a 7-0 win while Police Blue thrashed Vuna Rugby Taveuni 38-0.

McDonald's Saunaka defeated Army Red 17-0 while Wardens beat Saint John Namena Natovi 24-0.

Tabadamu manager Ulaiasi Bolalailai says the side still has to work harder if they want to retain their title.

Tabadamu blue will face Pacific Warriors Nairai in the second cup eliminations while Tabadamu red will meet the 2018 Martintar 7s, Wardens.

The second cup eliminations is scheduled to be held at 9.15am this morning at the ANZ stadium.

The main cup quarterfinals will start at 1.20pm, the semifinals at 4pm while final will be held at 8pm.
