A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to four years imprisonment by Judge Justice Daniel Goundar for attempted aggravated robbery.
Marika Bola with two others hired a taxi and told the driver to go to Suva City however when the taxi approached Flagstaff the person sitting in front pulled the hand brakes while the two sitting at the back started punching the driver.
The incident occurred on the 9th of February this year.
Justice Goundar stated that the driver pleaded with the three men to leave him alone and take the money, but when he heard that the men wanted to take his taxi, he starting tooting his horn and drove fast towards the service station where the three men got off and were chased by a police officer who was at the service station.
