Police are currently questioning a woman who had allegedly abducted a new‑born baby from the Ante Natal Ward at Labasa Hospital last Sunday.

Police say they had received a tip off that the woman was hiding at a house in Bulileka in Labasa and they had conducted a raid at the house and arrested her.

The woman had allegedly stolen the new‑born baby boy of a 33‑year‑old woman who had given birth to twins and then abandoned him near the Police Barracks.

The baby was found safe.
