The Land Transport Authority has so far this year issued 116 traffic infringement notices for overloading.

LTA Board Chairman Vijay Maharaj says this is an overall decrease compared to the same period last year, whereby they issued 172 traffic infringement notices for overloading.

Maharaj says people are now slowly complying.

He says in regards to e-ticketing, from last  December till February this year, 103 people have been issued fines.

Maharaj says some of the reason they were fined because of damage, manipulation or interference of the operation of the bus card reader, charging incorrect bus fare, payment of fare using cash and paying other persons bus fare using subsidize card.
