The Waratahs have fined scrum‑half Nick Phipps after he was kicked out of a hotel in Sydney for urinating on a bar while wearing a cow costume.
He was forcefully removed from the Woollahra Hotel a day after he played in the Waratahs’ 29‑0 defeat to the Lions in their Super Rugby match on April 20.
The Waratahs said they had completed an investigation into the incident, stripping him of the state club captaincy role and fining the 29‑year‑old 4,000 Australian dollars.
Phipps who has won 61 Test caps for the Wallabies says he’ll accept his punishment.
This latest incident has at least taken away the spot light from Waratahs fullback Israel Folau who is being heavily criticised about his comments about gay people.
The Waratahs host the Blues at Brookvale Oval at 5.50pm on Saturday and are bidding to break a 36‑game winning streak by New Zealand teams against Australian opposition.
