The Fijian Elections Office has announced it will start an Overseas Voter Registration Drive in June as part of its continued preparation for the 2018 General elections.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says this is possible due to the continuing calender of parliament which has given the Fijian Elections Office with an opportunity to continue the overseas voter registration on an ongoing basis.

Saneem says they plan to send their Overseas Voter Registration teams to Australia, New Zealand and the U.S between the 15th and 20th of June.

He says the Fijian Elections Office has received some requests from these countries for teams to be sent there.

Saneem says they have requested the Fiji Missions in the respective countries through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help in reaching out to identify communities in these countries where there is a demand for voter services.

He says individuals and representatives from the communities can contact the Fijian Elections Office EVR Coordinator Litia Sema on  litia.sema@feo.org.fj.
