The Human Rights and Anti‑Discrimination Commission has welcomed the outcome of the independent investigations conducted by FICAC.
Director Ashwin Raj says the Fiji Human Rights and Anti‑Discrimination Commission reiterates that no one is above the law and as a public office and as public office holders we must conduct ourselves with full accountability and transparency in the dispensation of our constitutional mandate.
Raj says the Commission, under his leadership will continue with all of its independent audits including a financial audit dating back to 2008, audit of the legal and complaints department as well as an audit of the management systems and processes.
He says the findings of these independent audits will be presented to the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji.
FICAC has said that there is no evidence to support any allegation against the Fiji Human Rights and Anti Discrimination Commission Director Ashwin Raj.
It says they have found that the complaint against Ashwin Raj was unmeritorious upon the completion of the investigation.
It further says the cooperation shown by the Fiji Human Rights and Anti Discrimination Commission and the Director during the course of this investigation was commendable.
