A 61-year-old man charged with multiple counts of sexual offences appeared before High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe today.

For the first case, the man is charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of rape of his 10-year-old granddaughter.

For the second case, he is charged with two counts of rape and a count each of indecently insulting any person and indecent assault of his 10-year-old granddaughter, sometime last year.

For the third case, the man is charged with a count of rape and two counts of sexual assault of his eight year old granddaughter, sometime between 2016 and 2017.

He is also charged with three counts of rape and a count of indecent assault of an 11-year-old girl, sometime between 2016 and 2017.

All the alleged incidents occurred in a village in Kadavu.

The case has been adjourned to the 5th of next month for plea.
