Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the Gross Domestic Product which is the total value of goods and services produced in Fiji, has increased to $11 billion compared to $0.2 billion in 1970.
While rejecting the continuous suggestions by the opposition parties and parliamentarians on the economy not doing well, Sayed-Khaiyum says the reality is that the Gross Domestic Product stands at a record level, more jobs have been created, and the unemployment rate is at a 20 year low at 4.5%.
Sayed-Khaiyum also says that SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka is misleading people with economic growth figures as the biggest contraction of the economy took place after the 1987 coups.
