HOPE is the newest registered political party in Fiji.
This has been announced by Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem.
HOPE stands for Humanity, Opportunity, Prosperity and Equality.
Saneem says following the conclusion of the objection process as well as the finalization of the application, he has found that the proposed HOPE Party has met the requirements of the Political Parties Registration Conduct Funding and Disclosures Act.
He says he has approved HOPE’s application for registration.
Members of the HOPE party are former NFP President Roko Tupou Draunidalo as President, Alumeci Watisoqoibau as General Secretary, Setavana Saumatua is Vice President, Mary Muir is the Treasurer while Nemani Vakacakau is the Registered Officer.
The eight political parties that will hope to contest the general elections include HOPE Party, Fiji Labour Party, National Federation Party, Social Democratic Liberal Party, People’s Democratic Party, Fiji First, Freedom Alliance and Unity Fiji.
