The man who had allegedly attempted to forcefully enter the Delainavesi Police Post on Tuesday has appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court facing a total of 12 counts in three separate offenses.

25-year-old Samuela Bokadi has been charged with 6 counts of attempt to act with intent to cause grievous harm, 5 counts of resisting arrest and one count of damaging property.

Bokadi had allegedly threatened his partner who then ran to the Delainavesi Police Post to ask for assistance.

The defacto wife was then taken by a female police officer who was alone at the Delainavesi Police Post and put in a safe room.

The officer saw Bokadi wielding a cane knife and smashing the railings of the post.

Bokadi was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident.

The situation was contained as a number of officers arrived in emergency vehicles and motorbikes.

Police confirm that the Delainavesi Community Post sustained extensive damage and no one was injured.

Magistrate Waleen George has transferred Bokadi’s file to the Suva High Court.

He has been remanded in custody.

Bokadi is to appear in Suva High Court on the 9th of next month.
