A hybrid Toyota Prius taxi was destroyed in a fire at Valelevu Shopping Complex in the last hour.

Firefighters rushed to the scene but it was too late.

Fijivillage has received confirmation that the driver had returned from a run and had parked the taxi at the base. He had just come out of the car when the fire started.

No one was injured in the fire.
