The Jack Berry Memorial Kindergarten has been officially opened in Naqia village in Tailevu to help ensure that children in the village as well as nearby communities get the right and perfect start for lifelong progress.
The construction of the pre‑school was funded by the Jack Berry Fijian Foundation which also provided equipment and materials for the school.
The foundation was set up in honour of Jack Berry who tragically passed away in a road accident in Cardiff last year.
The 26‑year‑old Chef was married to Luisa Berry who is originally from Naqia village.
The kindergarten was opened by Jack's parents and the Permanent Secretary for Labour, Productivity and Industrial Relations Salaseini Daunabuna.
While speaking at the opening of the pre‑school, Jack's father, John Berry thanked friends and family members in Wales that helped fundraise to provide the finances.
He said that they did weight loss challenges, marathons, charity balls and auctions to fundraise.
