The Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North Committee are ready to undertake a project that will see the construction of a multipurpose hall and sporting arena in Labasa.
Committee Spokesperson Vincent Sahayam says that the committee has successfully acquired land that is next to All Saint’s Secondary School and hope to begin with the 2 year project after the culmination of the Festival next week.
Sahayam also highlighted project that the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North Committee undertook last year included the procurement of ultra sound scanners for the Labasa Hospital that costed a total of $50,000.
Meanwhile, Miss Northern Civil Service, Meiema Maeli won the Best Research Award last night.
12 contestants are vying for the Miss Friendly North Crown and the winner will also represent Labasa at the Miss Fiji Pageant next month.
