People’s Community Network Fiji has given eviction notices to 12 tenants of Lagilagi Housing due to unpaid rent but are working with these tenants in trying to come up with ideas with regards to their rental payments.

This was highlighted by the PCN Fiji National Director, Semiti Qalowasa.

Qalowasa says that the eviction notices were given to six Phase 1 tenants and the other six phase 2 tenants that were moved in by the Local Government Ministry that were supposed to live there temporarily.

He says that they are having talks with these tenants as they do not want to evict anyone.

Qalowasa says most of these tenants have not been paying anything for years.

He says that they are very lenient with the tenants and the tenants should also think of PCN as they need this money to construct and complete other flats that are supposed to be built and completed.

He says once a body corporate is formed, this sort of leniency will no longer apply.
