The National Federation Party has promised to put teachers on permanent contracts if they form the next government.
While sending his best wishes to the teachers on World Teachers Day, NFP leader Professor Biman Prasad said in a statement that NFP understands the mess that the whole education system is in under the FijiFirst government. He says they understand the frustration of teachers with respect to appointments, promotions and contracts.
Prasad says the NFP government will restore the dignity and respect as well as the social, professional and economic status of teachers.
He says they will abolish contractual employment and put all teachers on permanent contracts.
