RFMF Chief of Staff Brigadier General Jone Kalouniwai has stressed that the RFMF does not want to be involved in political parties campaigning.

Kalouniwai says that the RFMF is here for all people and to protect Fiji, to look after Fiji and the RFMF is not here for anyone’s particular benefit especially political parties or political leaders.

Kalouniwai says the RFMF will continue to support the government of the day and whatever government comes into power the RFMF will be there to continue their support and also advocate democracy as much as they can.

This comes as National Federation Party President, Pio Tikoduadua highlighted that no politician or political party should use the RFMF as an institution for leverage or for the pursuance of their political goal.

While speaking at a NFP campaign meeting at Navitoko, Sawani along Princes Road Tikoduadua also highlighted that he is a former Colonel in the Military and he reiterated on behalf of the NFP leader and the NFP that political parties should stay away from politicizing the RFMF.

He also clarified that NFP is not going to politicize the RFMF and also expects everyone to do the same.
