The 71‑year‑old grandfather who was charged with four counts of rape has been denied bail by Suva Magistrate Liyange Wickramasekara.
He is alleged to have raped his 4‑year‑old granddaughter.
The case has also been transferred to the Suva High Court and will be called on the 30th of this month.
The alleged offences happened in Samabula.
The mother of the 4‑year‑old girl filed the complaint with Police.
