“It’s a good year for me with the Fiji Airways Drua and also to prepare for the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians”
These were the words of the 2018 NRC Rising Star award winner Alivereti Veitokani who says that the Drua was a symbol of our ancestors reaching Fiji.
He had also represented Fiji in the Sydney and Wellington 7's in the 2017-2018 HSBC World 7's Series.
Veitokani says that the Fiji Airways Drua give local players the opportunity to achieve more and give them the mentality that nothing is impossible.
Meanwhile, Drua manager Chris Thompson says that their success has show the amount of hard work everyone has put on behind the scene.
Thompson says that the Drua program was put in place by the Fiji Rugby Union, World Rugby, Pacific Rugby Players Program with Rugby Australia to develop and educate local players and staff in high performance environment.
