The Fiji Roads Authority is looking at doing reconstruction work on Kings Road from Korovou to Rakiraki.
CEO Jonathan Moore says that recently he was in that area and has noticed that the road has deteriorated.
Moore says that they are planning to reconstruct about 40 to 50 kilometres of road.
He adds they see it as a major project, as the road is deteriorating rapidly and they cannot manage it just by small patch and pot-hole repairs.
Moore says their teams are doing their surveys.
He says the work will not begin in this financial year as it is not factored in this years budget.
Moore says they need to do the works properly as they want it to be a road that is useable for 25 years and not just 5 or 10 years.
