Manchester City returned to the Premier League summit with a convincing 3-1 derby victory over Manchester United at Etihad Stadium this morning.

City were seeking the result they needed to go back to the top of the table after Liverpool's 2-0 win over Fulham at Anfield ‑ and it was rarely in doubt after David Silva bundled home an early goal to give them a narrow interval advantage.

The second goal for City was scored by Sergio Aguero.

In other English Premier League matches, Arsenal and new comers Wolves played out a 1-all draw, Chelsea and Everton played out a nil-all draw while Liverpool has defeated Fulham 2-0.
