All Blacks flanker Sam Cane has opened up about his frightening neck injury, suffering a fracture against South Africa in Pretoria last month, saying he's targeting a return in May 2019.
26 year old, Cane, came off in the first half of the All Blacks' 32‑30 win, and it was later revealed that he'd suffered a neck fracture, forcing him to stay in South Africa for surgery.
Appearing on Newstalk ZB this morning, Cane spoke about the potentially career‑ending injury, amazed he was able to walk away in the way he did.
Meanwhile the All Blacks will now face Italy at 3am this Sunday.
