More than 60 Ginger, Cocoa and Dalo farmers from Tailevu successfully completed a one day workshop organised by the Fiji Development Bank and the Fiji Crop and Livestock Council which addresses financial literacy.

Fiji Crop and Livestock Council Chief Executive Officer Jiu Daunivalu says that it’s important for farmers to explore ways in which they can increase their income and develop better working environment.

Daunivalu says that how they achieve it is for farmers to understand the value chain process.

He says that the three major group that make up the process are the operators, the supporters and the enablers.

Daunivalu adds that using the chain process helps farmers have access to services, access to bilateral relations with supporters and farmers will have improved relations with the public supporters.

Farmers were also told about the Fiji Development Bank Agriculture services and requirements available through the bank as well as basics in financial literacy.

The workshop was held at the Korovou Agriculture Station.
