Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Gareth Baber says there is potential for one or two players in the team travelling to Dubai to assert themselves for the future of Fiji 7s with Paula Draunisinukula and Josua Vakurinabili ruled out due to injury.

Dranisinukula is still recouperating from a leg fracture while Vakurinabili is also unavailable for the first two legs of the HSBC World 7s series due to an ankle injury.

Baber says they are looking forward to starting strong, then pushing on this season and ultimately finishing No1 in the World.

The team will have a training game against the USA tomorrow before the tournament kicks off on Friday.

The Fiji 7s team is pooled with France, Kenya and Scotland.

Fiji will face France in their first pool match at 7.06pm this Friday, Fiji will then play Scotland at 10.06pm this Friday.

Fiji’s last pool match will be against Kenya at 4.06am this Saturday.

The cup quarterfinals start at 8pm this Saturday while the Cup semifinals kick off at 1.17am Sunday.

The cup final will start at 4.29am Sunday.
