The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team will face South Africa in the first Semifinal of the Cape Town 7s after thrashing Spain 46-7 in their quarterfinal match.

Fiji had a strong start to the game with Waisea Nacuqu scoring the first try in the first minute while Meli Derenalagi received a yellow card for a high tackle.

Spain took advantage of the difference in numbers, scoring a try in straight after the yellow card.

Captain Kalione Nasoko then broke the Spaniards defence to score a try in the 3rd minute while Jerry Tuwai scored in the 5th minute running around the blind side of the scrum.

Nacuqu created an opportunity for Sevuloni Mocenacagi just before halftime to add to Fiji’s lead of 24-7 going in to half time.

Nasoko scored his second try just in the second minute 2nd minute while Naduva scored his second try in the third minute of the second half increasing Fiji’s lead to 29-7.

Fiji kept Spain scoreless in the second half with Beniamino Vota scoring in the fifth minute and Naduva stamping Fiji’s win with a third try right as the hooter sounded.

Fiji will face South Africa in the first semifinal at 3.34am.

New Zealand will face USA in the second semifinal at 3:56am after defeating Australia 26-17 while USA edged England 19-12.
