With the many Flying Fijians currently contracted with Premiership Rugby Limited, their release for the World Cup will come just 35 days before the World Cup on September 20th next year.
The Premiership Limited has said that they will stop players from joining up with their national team squads until mid August.
Some of the Fijian players who could be affected are Leicester’s Campese Ma’afu, Newcastle Falcons trio Tevita Cavubati, Nemani Nagusa and Vereniki Goneva and many others.
Other teams who could be most affected are Scotland, Wales and there are also sizeable contingents of players from South Africa, Georgia, Russia and Italy playing in the Premiership, among others.
We are trying to seek comments from Fiji Head Coach John Mckee.
Fiji is pooled with Australia, Wales, Georgia and Uruguay in the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
