Hundreds of people today gathered at My Suva Park to enjoy time with family and friends.
The Shankar family who were part of the Boxing Day hype told Fijivillage that they came for a picnic to enjoy time with each other as they had been through a very hectic year with school and work.
Mr Shankar who is a Police Officer says that today is a day for him to relax and spend time with his children.
Meanwhile 50 children and their parents who were part of a church group from Naboro also converged at My Suva Park to make the most of the Boxing Day public holiday.
Paulini Nanati who is a member of the Church group says that they had been planning for this picnic trip from the beginning of this year.
She adds that t it was very fulfilling to see that excitement in the children and their parents.
