A 55-year-old woman passed away yesterday afternoon after she was involved in a road accident.

Police say she was travelling in a vehicle along Fletcher Road when the driver allegedly failed to negotiate a bend and as a result the vehicle veered off the road and landed in a drain.

Two other passengers were treated and have been sent home.

The post mortem will be conducted soon as investigations continue.
