The trial of man who is alleged to have raped his close relative in Lau in 2015 will begin next Tuesday.
State Counsel, Lavenia Bogitini told the court that prosecution will be calling in 3 witnesses which include the Doctor that examined the victim and the victim’s mother.
The alleged incident occurred in Lau.
Defence Lawyer Lavinia David, said in court that it is unclear as to what the accused person’s age is as he seems to be changing his statements constantly.
The man’s age in the police statement is 35, when questioned in court the man said that he is 50 years old
The man was examined for his mental stability, and in his report, the examining doctor had stated that the man seems to be about 50 years of age.
