The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has started restocking insulin at health facilities around Fiji.

This comes as concerns were raised by diabetic patients that they were not being administered their insulin injections at Health Centres and Hospitals due to a limited supply.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that there was limited stock of insulin in health facilities around the country and the insulin was being administered to patients who needed it the most.

It says that major hospitals have been restocked with insulin as of this week and health centres will be fully stocked by the end of the month.

The Health Ministry says that they will continue to prioritise public health and will ensure that their pharmacies are well stocked with medicines to allow ease of access for the public.
