Minister for Fisheries Semi Koroilavesau has handed over a new boat to the Island of Koro to assist in their seaweed project.
Koroilavesau led a delegation from the Ministry of Fisheries to the village of Nabuna, where he handed over the brand new boat and outboard engine to their fishermen’s association.
He told the village of Nacamaki that the ministry would like to further develop their services by establishing a fisheries station and ice plant.
All the 14 villages on the island have established their own fishermen’s association.
