Israel Folau has become Super Rugby's joint record try scorer as the NSW Waratahs shattered the Crusaders' aura of invincibility with a 20‑12 victory over the reigning champions.

Folau is now equal with former All Blacks winger Doug Howlett with 59 tries.

In the titleholders' first outing since the Christchurch terror attacks rocked their city eight days ago, the Crusaders had their record 19 match‑winning streak come to a end.

The two teams also put playing rivalries aside, coming together in a touching tribute for the victims of last week's Christchurch shootings.

Meanwhile, in other matches, the Hurricanes overcame the Stormers 34-28, the Chiefs thrashed the Bulls 56‑20 to register their first win, the Lions beat the Sunwolves 37-24 while the Sharks defeated the Rebels 28-14.

In the lone match today, the Brumbies will face the Reds at 5.05pm.
