Every health centre, nursing station, and hospital will be open this Friday.

This was the assurance given by the Minister for Health, Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete when questioned by FijiVillage if the ministry has contingency plans in place if nurses from the Fiji Nursing Association are part of the Fiji Trades Union Congress nationwide protest that is being organized for this Friday.

Waqainabete says nurses are part of essential services and they need to be at work.

Meanwhile, Fiji Nursing Association General Secretary, Salanieta Matiavi says they have no plans so far to be part of the FTUC nationwide protest.

Matiavi says for now they have not talked about the nationwide protest but can only support it.

Matiavi says they currently have about 2,000 members.

She then said that they can only confirm on the day if they will be part of the protest.
