The National Union of Municipal Workers will be holding a meeting with their members either tomorrow or Thursday before they decide on their stand about the nationwide protest that is being organized by the Fiji Trades Union Congress for this Friday.
This was confirmed by General Secretary, Raman Nair who stressed that they will consult their members first before making a decision.
National Union of Municipal Workers consists of 330 members who are employees of Suva, Nasinu, Nausori and Lami municipal councils.
Meanwhile the Fiji Local Government Officers Association supports the issues raised by the Fiji Trades Union Congress in relation to the nationwide protest that is being organized for this Friday.
President Rouhit Singh says the Association does not plan to take part in the protest but will not stop any member from taking part either as it is their individual right.
Singh says there are 280 members in the Fiji Local Government Officers Association who are from the Lautoka, Ba, Nadi, Labasa and Nausori municipal councils.
We are currently trying to get a comment from the Suva City Council Staff Association in regards to their stand on the planned protest.
