Wallabies centre Samu Kerevi has moved to ease concern about Pacific Island players unrest in Australian rugby and says he still feels comfortable to express his religious faith publicly.
The Queensland captain was keen to restore calm after an outbreak of anger sparked when his Reds and Wallabies teammate Taniela Tupou leapt to his support on social media.
Kerevi says that Tupou is an emotional fella and he just was having his back but people took what he said in the wrong way.
Tupou had earlier declared on social media that "Seriously Might as well sack me and all the other Pacific Islands rugby players around the world because we have the same Christian beliefs."
Tupou's post came after Kerevi had felt compelled to explain himself for thanking "the heavenly father" in a television interview following the Reds' Super Rugby win over the Sharks in Durban.
The Queensland Reds captain says that God is the source of his strength, grace and love which is the reason he gave honour back to him during Good Friday.
The Queensland Reds will host the Sunwolves at 9.45pm tonight while the Crusaders will take on the Sharks at 7.35pm also tonight.
