The inclusion of former Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Player, Amenoni Nasilasila in the travelling team for the Pacific Games in Samoa will depend on the outcome of his court case.
This has been confirmed by Coach, Gareth Baber.
The Fiji Rugby Union confirmed in January this year that Nasilasila has been suspended from training and also playing for the Men’s National 7s team.
Nasilasila is facing a rape charge where he is alleged to have raped a 24-year-old woman on the 22nd of December last year.
He is one of 37 names submitted by the Fiji Rugby Union for the Pacific Games.
The final travelling team of 12 players will be named by the 23rd of this month.
Some other top players who have been included are series regulars, Jerry Tuwai, Kalione Nasoko, Waisea Nacuqu, Livai Ikanikoda, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Mesulame Kunavula, Aminiasi Tuimaba, Josua Vakurinabili, Paula Dranisinukula, Vilimoni Botitu, Terio Tamani, Meli Derenalagi, and Alasio Naduva.
The 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa will begin on the 7th of July and continue to the 20th of July.
