Queensland Maroons coach Kevin Walters has named his team for game 1 of the State of Origin Series.

Walters has named players like Daly Cherry‑Evans, Cameron Munster, Will Chambers, Kalyn Ponga, Ben Hunt and Matt Gillett.

This also means that Cameron Smith has not come out of retirement for the origin series.

The NSW Blues had named their team earlier today.

The first game of the origin will be played at 10.10pm next Wednesday.
